Colour symbolism

White

White is the colour of shiny, polished metal and is not a lucky colour like red. It was worn when someone died, so traditionally it is very unlucky to have congratulations written on white paper. White is also a symbol for Autumn and purity: the moon and pearls are also symbols of purity.
