Photograph of entrance to counting house at Mountravers . A later doorway to the stone counting house, built around 1785 in which the plantation owner John Pinney would have stored valuables, important papers and perhaps money when warned of raids by the French.

Mountravers , on the island of Nevis in the Caribbean, was one of the plantations belonging to the Pinney family. John Pinney came to live in Bristol in 1783.
