Report of special justice to Governor of Jamaica, 21st October 1835. Reporting on the benevolent behaviour of plantation owners and the apprentices needing 2 shillings 6 pence per day to work for hire, as they get that much from working their own food gardens. They do not refuse to work from laziness, but because they prefer to work for themselves if the pay is less than 2s 6d.
